Bookkeeper to assist in the development of their growing nationwide operation. This position will heavily utilize Quickbooks to manage all Accounting transactions, Ensure compliance with government regulations, and Contribute to the overall success of the Accounting Department.

Primary Responsibilities:

Utilizing existing systems to account for daily financial transactions.
Following standard bookkeeping policies and procedures.
Maintaining subsidiary accounts and verifying general ledger accounts.
Maintaining historical records by filing paper and electronic documents.
Providing monthly financial reports by collecting, analyzing and summarizing account information and trends.
Ensuring full compliance with state, and local sales and excise tax reporting requirements.
Contributing to team efforts by accomplishing related results as needed.
Assisting with other Accounting Department tasks as needed.
Screening all incoming calls to the Accounting Department.
Researching and gathering information required by other teams.
Establishing industry and company standards.

Required Qualifications:

Previous experience in Accounts Receivable, Account Payable, Inventory and Financial Statement Reporting.
Previous experience using Quickbooks as an Accounting Software.
Ability to adapt to a constantly changing environment.
Ability to multi-task and manage requests from the Controller and CFO.
Ability to execute a variety of tasks in and out of the Accounting Dept.

Preferred Qualifications:

Previous experience using Job Costing Software.
Previous experience using Global Shop or ERP.
Bachelor’s Degree.

Job Description:

The Director of Finance & Accounting will supervise corporate accounting and financial functions and develop the preparation of financial reports and analysis for the non-profit company.

Under the direct supervision of the Executive Director, the Director of Finance & Accounting will be responsible for the planning, directing and, control of all accounting and financial matters. This includes preparing the budget, conducting financial analysis and preparing financial reports, developing and implementing an effective system of accounting, and maintaining accurate and current Standard Operating Procedures (SOP). He/she will be responsible for the preparation of yearly budgets and indirect rate projections to maximize profitability.

Job Responsibilities:

Responsible for financial planning and overseeing finances, budget, and taxation.
Provides general supervision and management of the day-to-day financial, tax, and accounting affairs of the company.
Participates in the provision of effective business & proposal strategic and financial planning.
Provides accounting and financial advice, direction, and leadership to management and to the accounting staff.
Researches, prepares, and submits the annual budget.
Prepares detailed reports on financial matters.
Ensures accounting and financials are managed according to generally accepted accounting principles.
Establishes and maintains internal controls.
Manages accounting and financial systems and maintains full and accurate accounting records.
Conducts financial analysis and prepares detailed financial reports and statements.
Directs and manages audits; i.e. responding to auditors’ comments concerning finances and operations and overseeing required action to address any deficiencies.
Approves the Chart of Accounts.
Implements and monitors payment authority practices.
Establishes and maintains cash controls.
Reconciles general ledger accounts.
Evaluates the performance of the Accounting and Finance staff.
All other duties as assigned by management.

Job Requirements:
Skills:Must have the expert working knowledge in accounting operations; including General Ledger, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and Payroll.
Ability to analyze financial data and prepare financial reports, statements, and projections.
Must be able to effectively present financial information and analysis to management and communicate with auditors.
Excellent mathematic skills a must.
Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills.

Educational Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting/Finance or Business with a strong focus on Accounting/Finance.


A minimum of six (6) years of progressively responsible experience in Accounting/Finance with a preference to experience in healthcare/ non-profit. Supervisory experience and/or CPA is preferred.

Other Requirements:

Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Excellent, oral, and written communications skills.
